Terms of Service
1. Introduction & Agreement
Welcome to ZeroPretend. We're glad you're here — quirks, flaws, awkward texts and all.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ZeroPretend website, platform, features, and related services (collectively, the “Service” or “Platform”), operated by ZeroPretend LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using ZeroPretend, you agree to:
These Terms,
Our [Privacy Policy], and
Any other rules or guidelines we publish.
If you don’t agree with these Terms, don’t use the Platform. It’s that simple.
2. Eligibility
ZeroPretend is only for adults aged 18 years or older. By using this Platform, you represent and warrant that:
You are at least 18 years old;
You are legally allowed to enter into a binding contract;
You are not prohibited by law from using dating or social platforms;
You haven’t been banned or suspended from our Platform in the past.
We do not knowingly allow minors on this site. If we discover you’re underage or using someone else’s identity, we’ll terminate your account immediately — and probably make fun of you in admin chat. (Just kidding. Mostly.)
3. What This Platform Is — And Isn’t
ZeroPretend is a platform for raw, real, human connection. It is NOT:
A matchmaking guarantee service
A therapy app
A background check service
A place to meet underage users (read that again, please)
The platform is intended for entertainment and connection purposes only.
We don’t promise that you’ll find love, get a second date, or avoid getting ghosted by someone who seemed promising.
If you use ZeroPretend, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. Please don’t come back blaming us for a weird dinner, an awkward DM, or someone who turned out to hate dogs.
2. User Conduct & Responsibilities
ZeroPretend is a platform built on radical honesty — but that doesn’t mean you can act like a jackass. By using the Platform, you agree to follow these basic rules:
2.1 Be Yourself — But Not a Menace
You agree to:
Only create one account, using accurate and honest information.
Represent yourself — no impersonating others, celebrities, or your hotter cousin.
Use your real age, real quirks, and real weirdness. That’s kind of the whole point here.
Take responsibility for your actions both on and off the Platform.
2.2 Don’t Be Gross (or Illegal)
The following will get you banned faster than a shirtless mirror selfie from 2007:
❌ Harassment, threats, stalking, or hate speech
❌ Posting explicit, violent, or otherwise abusive content
❌ Using the platform to promote scams, spam, or pyramid schemes
❌ Soliciting money, passwords, or private info from others
❌ Attempting to hack, scrape, reverse engineer, or exploit the platform
In short: Don’t ruin the experience for others. If your behavior would make a decent human cringe, don’t do it.
2.3 User-Generated Content
Anything you post — including photos, bio responses, messages, and quiz answers — is your responsibility. You retain ownership, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and share that content as part of operating the Platform.
We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms or our values. We’re not interested in censoring you — just in keeping things respectful and safe.
2.4 Reporting & Blocking
If someone is violating the rules or giving you the ick:
Block them
Report them
Then move on with your glorious life
We take all reports seriously. But keep in mind — we are not your therapist, lawyer, or vigilante. We will act where appropriate, but we can’t resolve every personal drama or awkward exchange.
3. Account Management & Termination
3.1 Your Account, Your Rules (Mostly)
You’re responsible for:
Keeping your login info secure (don’t use “password123” — we’re begging you).
All activity that happens under your account.
Updating your profile info as needed (people change, and so do quirks).
You may delete your account at any time through your settings. Once deleted, your profile and public content will be removed. Some data may be retained per our [Privacy Policy].
3.2 Our Right to Remove, Restrict, or Ban
We reserve the right to:
Suspend or terminate your account — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, our community guidelines, or our general vibe.
Remove any content that we believe violates our policies, disrespects other users, or just makes the platform worse.
Block access from specific devices, IPs, or regions if necessary for platform integrity.
We don’t take these steps lightly — but if you’re here to troll, lie, scam, or generally act like a tool, don’t be surprised when we show you the digital door.
3.3 Account Deletion Requests
You can request account deletion by:
Using the built-in “Delete Account” feature, or
Emailing [[email protected]]
We’ll honor deletion requests in a timely manner, and you’ll be removed from our active systems (see Privacy Policy for retention exceptions).
We’re not clingy. You can leave when you want. Just don’t ghost us — we prefer closure. 💔
4. Subscriptions, Payments & Refunds
4.1 Free for Now — But Not Forever
ZeroPretend is currently free to use during our MVP and early access phase. You can register, build your profile, interact with others, and explore the platform at no cost.
BUT — and let’s be real — if this thing succeeds, we’re going to charge for it.
We plan to introduce premium features or subscription tiers in the future. That might include:
Boosted profile visibility
Advanced filtering and matching options
Unlimited messaging
Access to exclusive content or features
We’ll be totally transparent about pricing before anything goes live. If we start charging, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for — and when.
4.2 Payment Processing
When payments become available, they will be:
Handled by a secure, third-party payment processor
Charged in your local currency where possible
Subject to applicable taxes or fees
ZeroPretend will not store your full payment details. That info stays between you and our processor.
4.3 Cancellations & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription anytime through your account or by emailing us.
Unless otherwise stated, payments will be non-refundable, including for partial billing periods or unused features.
Exceptions may be made where required by law.
We aim to be fair — not flexible to the point of absurdity.
4.4 Changes to Pricing or Features
If we change pricing, subscription models, or available features:
We’ll notify users with reasonable advance notice
Changes won’t apply retroactively to an existing billing cycle
We're not trying to trick you — just grow with you.
5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
5.1 No Promises, No Guarantees
Let’s be clear: ZeroPretend is a platform for connection, not a crystal ball.
We do not guarantee:
That you’ll meet someone
That you’ll fall in love
That your matches will be truthful, kind, attractive, or even interesting
That you’ll walk away emotionally intact
We offer tools. What you do with them is your call.
5.2 Entertainment and Connection Purposes Only
ZeroPretend is designed for entertainment, social interaction, and connection based on honest self-expression. We’re not a matchmaking service, therapist, dating coach, or emotional support hotline.
By using the platform, you acknowledge and agree that:
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and any outcomes (romantic, emotional, financial, or otherwise) are your responsibility, not ours.
We don’t promise results. We provide a space. What happens after that is on you.
5.3 Use at Your Own Risk
You agree to use the platform at your own risk. This includes:
Communicating with other users
Meeting in person (which we recommend you do safely, in public, and only after good judgment)
Sharing personal information with others
We don’t conduct background checks. We don’t verify identities.
If someone catfishes you, ghosts you, or invites you to their essential oil pyramid scheme — we are not liable.
5.4 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
ZeroPretend, its creators, affiliates, and team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:
Loss of data
Loss of relationships
Loss of time, energy, money, or emotional stability
Or any damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform
Our total liability — if somehow we’re found liable — is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past twelve (12) months, if anything. Which, let’s be real, might still be $0. But that is yet to be determined. By using this website you are agreeing to this terms.
6. Intellectual Property & Platform Use Rights
6.1 Our Stuff Is Ours
All content on the ZeroPretend platform — including but not limited to the name, logo, designs, branding, layout, features, graphics, user interface, custom icons, text, and software — is the exclusive property of ZeroPretend LLC, or licensed to us.
This content is protected by:
U.S. and international copyright laws
Trademark laws
Other intellectual property laws and agreements
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of our platform — unless we say you can, in writing. Which we probably won’t. 😉
6.2 Your Content Is Yours (But You Let Us Use It)
Anything you submit to the platform — including your profile info, photos, prompt responses, quirks, bios, messages, etc. — is still yours.
However, by submitting content, you grant ZeroPretend a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use, display, copy, adapt, modify, and publish that content:
To operate and improve the platform
For internal research and development
To market the platform (if we want to highlight cool profiles or quotes — with your consent)
We won’t use your private messages in marketing. We’re edgy, not evil.
6.3 Don’t Steal From Other Users Either
You may not copy, distribute, or use any content posted by other users without their permission.
Profiles, photos, and messages belong to the person who created them — treat them like you’d want your own stuff treated.
7. Third-Party Links, Tools, Plugins & External Services
7.1 External Links and Services
From time to time, ZeroPretend may include links to third-party websites, services, or tools. These may appear in forms, content embeds, payment pages, surveys, emails, or partner resources.
When you leave our platform or interact with external services, you do so at your own risk.
We don’t own or operate these external platforms. That means we’re not responsible for:
The accuracy of their content
Their security or privacy practices
Any interactions or transactions you initiate with them
Always read their terms and privacy policies before engaging.
7.2 Platform Plugins, Themes & Integrations
The ZeroPretend platform is built using a variety of third-party software tools, plugins, and design systems — including content management systems, themes, and backend utilities.
These tools:
Help us run the site and provide core functionality
Are developed and maintained by third parties
May be updated, changed, or deprecated at any time
We cannot guarantee the ongoing availability, compatibility, or performance of any feature that depends on a third-party plugin or tool.
If a plugin breaks, disappears, or gets an update that affects functionality — we’ll do our best to fix it, but we’re not liable for disruptions caused by tools outside our control.
7.3 Third-Party Content or Embeds
You may see embedded content (like videos, forms, or widgets) served by third parties. These elements may use cookies or tracking tools of their own.
We don’t govern what those services collect — so again, check their policies before interacting.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
8.1 Jurisdiction
These Terms (and any related policies, disputes, or issues) shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
By using ZeroPretend, you agree that:
Any legal action, dispute, or proceeding arising from or relating to the Platform shall be brought exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA.
No matter where you swipe from — Florida law applies, and Miami-Dade is where we sort things out, legally speaking.
8.2 Informal Resolution First (Let’s Talk Like Adults)
Before dragging anyone into court, you agree to try to resolve any issue informally by contacting us at 📧 [[email protected]]. We’ll do the same.
If we can’t resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal legal action — in Miami-Dade County, Florida, as stated above.
8.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve any disputes individually, and not as part of a class action, consolidated claim, or representative proceeding.
No giant lawsuits. No group battles. Just you, us, and a court if needed.
9. Final Provisions
9.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our [Privacy Policy] and any other official policies posted on the site, represent the entire agreement between you and ZeroPretend. They supersede any prior understandings, emails, or flirty metaphors about digital soulmates.
9.2 Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to update, modify, or replace any part of these Terms at any time. When we do, we’ll:
Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page
Post the new version on this page
Notify users when material changes are made (especially if they affect your rights)
If you keep using the platform after changes go live, it means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, you should stop using the platform and delete your account.
9.3 Waiver & Enforceability
If we fail to enforce any part of these Terms, it doesn’t mean we’ve waived our right to do so later. (We’re laid back, but not forgetful.)
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that portion will be removed or revised — and the rest will still stand.
9.4 Assignment
You may not transfer or assign your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours — like if someone awesome acquires ZeroPretend and keeps the vision alive.
